E-Voting
BAM have been providing our secure e-voting platform to student organisations for over 4 years. With this easy to use system you can run an election online through your website to Electoral Reform Society 1997 Single Transferable Vote (ERS97 STV) guidelines, or Instant Run-Off Voting (IRV).
BAM will build the election platform specific to your organisation's requirements, using one of the below authentication methods:
University Portal Authentication - The e-voting platform will be authenticated using your existing university portal (e.g. blackboard), allowing students to easily log in and cast their vote using their regular log in credentials.
Database Authentication - You can run your election online using an import from an excel spreadsheet that contains user information and any filters that you wish to run on your positions.
Website Authentication - Use your BAM website database to run your election, allowing either students and / or non-students to vote through the platform.
By using our system to run your elections online, you will be able to instantly calculate the results once your election has closed. You will also be able to print out manual ballot slips in the event that you would like to manually validate the results of any given position running. Another benefit is the ability to run 'targeted elections' where only specific members can vote, this is perfect for campus or society based elections.
With over 4 years experience of running online elections, we have found that on average voter turnout has increased when compared to paper based ballot voting. The main reason for this, is the increased exposure from running your election on the website, as well as greater accessibility that your users will now enjoy. Based on your method of authentication it is also possible to run a report on the students that are voting, with a full voting statistics suite, which may have not been possible with a paper based vote.
